The NZ Ministry of Education works with schools, families, and whānau to ensure children and young people receive the learning support they need as they progress through school. Moving from primary to intermediate or secondary school is best done alongside peers, helping children feel included and part of their community. For students with higher learning support needs, a lead worker coordinates with the new school to plan the transition.
